Homework

As a school, we believe in the value of homework. It consolidates, supports and extends classroom learning. It provides opportunities to prepare for future lessons and assessments as well as improves independent learning skills. It enables parents/carers to get involved in and support student learning. It provides a good foundation for life-long learning.

Our homework procedures help students to develop high educational standards, in line with our school aims. They underline our commitment to learning as a partnership between students, teachers and parents.

It is the expectation that homework will be:

  • Set, completed and submitted regularly according to the procedures
  • Communicated in an effective way
  • Appropriate and relevant to students' needs
  • Assessed and monitored

Homework is recorded on our homework portal Satchel One - Show my homework and is accessible online. Students, parents and staff have individual logins.
