Key Stage 4 Parent Information

Students in Key Stage 4 will build on their learning from Key Stage 3 and all students will follow pathways which have been designed to meet the academic needs of our students and to ensure a broad and balanced curriculum is provided for everyone:

  • EBacc pathway: students study the core curriculum plus Geography or History, and also French at GCSE level. In addition, one other optional subject is chosen.
  • Attainment pathway: students study the core curriculum plus Geography or History. Most students will study French (if appropriate) and one other optional subject choice.

We hold GCSE Information Evenings for Year 10 and Year 11 parents/carers. The aim of the events is to provide targetted information and guidance for parents to help them support their child through these key years of their education and to encourage independent learning in the preparation for examinations. We will look to address the following widely asked questions:

  • When should I start revision?
  • How do I plan to use my time outside of school?
  • What should my revision look like?
  • As parents how can we help?
