Student Voice at Seahaven Academy

There are lots of opportunities for students to make their voices heard at Seahaven Academy. We regularly consult the student body through surveys and focus groups. We use the on line platform of Aspire to help students express their views and support them in their future plans. Through this program we are able to respond to the students’ views and adapt our intervention to suit their developing needs.

We also have a range of opportunities to harness student leadership. Students play an active part in charity and community events and take leadership responsibility in year councils, buddying, mentoring and as prefects. We also value the input of the students in the continuous cycle of improving learning and teaching here at Seahaven. The student voice interviews are an important element of our termly reviews and students’ thoughts and opinions regarding the strengths and areas of development are considered carefully and reflected in subject development plans.
