Key Stage 3 Holiday Work
To support your learning and progress over the summer the core subjects: English, maths and science have created these bridging tasks for those students that would like the opportunity to continue practising specific skills or to deepen knowledge by getting their teeth into particular topics (science).
There will be lots of rewards and even prizes awarded for completed tasks.
This is not intended to be a chore and should not be something that you stress about, please see it as something you can do to build on what you have completed this year and prepare for next.
Dear Year 7 and 8 students, we hope you enjoyed learning about The Earth during the summer term. We have definitely enjoyed making resources you can use at home, including the Live Lessons for Year 7. We would like to give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge of rocks and fossils with this summer activity. You can bring in your projects to show us in September and collect your Junior Geologist Certificate. Check SMHW for the activity sheet.
Dear Year 9 student, well done on completing a term of GCSE level activities. We have been very lucky to be able to get for you a subscription to an amazing revision website called my-gcsescience.com. To keep your brains active during the long summer holiday why not log in and work through the sections suggested. These are topics you will be familiar with and this is an excellent opportunity to develop those revision skills that you will need to master for your GCSE exams! Watch the how to use video guide I have made for the Year 10s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTALw-1MSnA&t=141s) . It explains how to log in and navigate the site. We also have for you an excellent presentation all about COVID-19. Please check SMHW for detauls of the topics and the video, it will stay up there all summer.
